The Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Navigation Program (BC3NP) provides low-income women access to breast and cervical cancer screening services like mammograms and pap tests, and follow-up care if needed. If a breast and/or cervical abnormality is identified from the screening or exam, the woman will be referred to community providers for follow-up. Over 75 diagnostic services are provided free of cost through BC3NP. In the event of a breast or cervical cancer diagnosis, the program does not pay for cancer treatment, but participants may be eligible for a special Medicaid program through BC3NP that will cover cancer treatment expenses.
Who Is Eligible?
- Must be at or below 250% of the federal poverty guidelines
- Must be age 21-64 (Mammograms are for ages 40-64)
- Must be either a Michigan resident, a migrant worker, or a woman living near the border of a neighboring state (Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota).

Skin Cancer
In coordination with Spectrum Health Regional Wheatlake Cancer Center Free Cancer Screening Events including skin cancer screenings are offered twice a year. These cancer screenings are for those without insurance. Cancer screenings are offered for both men and women. These cancer screenings are currently offered in Reed City.
Lung Cancer
Are you a current or former heavy smoker and have you quit within the last 15 years? If so, and you’re between the ages of 55-80, there is a new lung cancer screening test that may be right for you. Talk with your doctor about the benefits and risks of lung cancer screening or visit michigan.gov/cancer for more information.
