DHD#10 Healthy Families America (HFA) is a voluntary program that offers guidance and information through supportive, strength-based visits to help parents be ready for their baby’s birth and to raise a healthy family. We recognize that parents are their child’s most important teacher. HFA is available in Crawford, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Lake, and Wexford counties. Services can begin during pregnancy and continue until the child starts preschool.

HFA works to have healthier children and families. There are many benefits such as:

  • Care for yourself during pregnancy and after your baby’s birth
  • Support dads and moms in their new roles
  • Strengthen parent-child relationships.
  • Help with temper tantrums, toilet training and other challenging stages.
  • Plan activities to do with your baby, toddler, and preschooler.
  • Help you prepare your child/children for school success.
  • Set goals for yourself and your family based on your values.
