DHD#10 conducts pre-licensing and license renewal inspections of facilities licensed by MDHHS on issues related to environmental and public health and will investigate the public health significance of any complaint related to a MDHHS licensed facility.

Mortgage Evaluations

Mortgage evaluation are designed to inform new homeowners of the condition of their septic and well systems. Mortgage evaluations are required in Brooks Township – Newaygo county, Kalkaska and Manistee counties at the time of sale and voluntary in the rest of Newaygo county and the other 7 counties.

Public Pool Inspections & Complaints

Support is available for reporting animal bite exposures, rabies testing, and prevention guidance.

Home radon test kits are available at your local DHD#10 office for $10.

Tanning Salon Inspections & Licensing

All businesses providing tanning equipment for public use within the jurisdiction of District Health Department #10 are required to be licensed and inspected annually.
