WHAT IS THE POSTER AND INFOGRAPHIC CONTEST?
District Health Department #10 is hosting a poster and infographic contest to convey the impacts, dangers, and consequences of underage drinking. Infographics are popular tools for sharing important data and messages.

ELIGIBILITY:
The contest is open to all 7th through 12th grade students in Wexford and Missaukee Counties.

HOW DO I MAKE A POSTER OR INFOGRAPHIC?
Posters and infographics can be computer generated, graphically designed, or hand drawn and must be 11×17 in size. Please google substance abuse infographics to learn more about infographics. However, please do not copy any infographics from your search. Also, please reference any sources for statistics used on your poster/infographic.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND INSTRUCTIONS:
To be considered an eligible submission, posters and infographics must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be submitted electronically to DHD#10, via email to agullekson@dhd10.org by the deadline of December 31, 2018. Posters/Infographics submitted via the DHD#10 website or social media sites will not be considered.
  2. Please include “Poster/Infographic Contest” in the email subject line
  3. Include the following information in the body of the email:
    1. Name of person entering the poster/infographic
    2. Contact information (phone number, including area code and email)
    3. School name
    4. Grade
    5. Sign and attach the Media Release Consent Form or have parent/guardian sign if under 18 years old
  4. Be relevant to the theme of Underage Drinking
  5. Be saved as a PNG, JPEG, or PDF file
    1. If your poster or infographic is hand-drawn, it must be scanned and submitted electronically in one of the forms stated above.

Once you submit your poster or infographic, your submission is final and may not be modified or edited further. All submissions will be reviewed for content before being published or judged. If any submission is deemed inappropriate or is not relevant to the theme, DHD #10 reserves the right to disqualify that submission.

JUDGING OF POSTERS/INFOGRAPHICS:
All submitted posters/infographics, that are deemed appropriate, will be posted on DHD #10’s Facebook page and will be judged by the amount of likes each image receives. Judging will take place January 7, 2019 through January 31, 2019. Winners will be announced February 1, 2019 on DHD#10’s Facebook page. DHD#10 will also contact winning individuals.

The three posters that receive the highest number of likes, in one month, will win the contest. You will be notified once the posters have been published online.

PRIZES:
1st place: $50 Amazon Gift Card
2nd place: $30 Amazon Gift Card
3rd place: $20 Amazon Gift Card

SUBMISSION LIMITS:
Individuals can only enter the contest once (either a poster or infographic, not both)

OTHER:
Please keep the original copy of your poster/infographic as there may be an opportunity to display your art in the community.
